Frimley Health is a Trust where great care and great careers go hand in hand. We’re three hospitals working closely with each other and with the communities we serve in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and Buckinghamshire  - our organisation has brought Heatherwood and Wexham hospitals into the fold of Frimley Park Hospital and its wider community services.

You’ll find the highest standards of clinical excellence across our locations and a friendly, supportive, open culture that brings everyone together. For our team it means a great day-to-day working experience – in a Trust with strong leadership, a clear sense of direction and an exciting vision for the future. The investment and changes ahead make this an exciting place to be. You can play your part in delivering exceptional patient care, while continuing to grow, develop and progress through first class learning and training.

Frimley Park Hospital Anaesthetic Department seeks a motivated anaesthetist with an interest in Simulation. Previous experience in simulation is not necessary as the Fellowship will provide the opportunity to learn about simulation and being part of a simulation team. Frimley Park Hospital has a dedicated simulation suite with attached debriefing/lecture room with capacity for live viewing. We have a Laerdal SimMan Essential wireless advanced patient simulator, a Laerdal SimJunior and Laerdal SimBaby. The Fellow will further develop the anaesthetic simulation training programme for all levels of anaesthetists. In addition, the Fellow will lead in situ simulation sessions for the multidisciplinary team, embedding simulated clinical experience into everyday work. There are opportunities to teach regularly on Medical Student, FY1 and FY2 sessions in the simulation suite. The Fellow will develop experience in utilisation of the equipment, creating clinical scenarios, observing non-technical skills, and in effective debriefing. The Fellow will be supported by a Consultant mentor and a Technology Enhanced Learning Officer.
Frimley Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS, is a friendly and innovative 700 bed Acute Trust based on the Surrey/Hants border. We are rated as “excellent” by the Health Care Commission and staff scored the Trust in the top 20% of hospitals in England for training, development and job satisfaction.
A wide range of surgical specialties are offered at Frimley Park, with over 80% of operations performed as day cases. Our Obstetric Unit has 5500 deliveries per year for which the Anaesthetic Department provides 24h cover. The intensive care unit at Frimley Park Hospital comprises of nine level 3 beds and three Level 2 beds. In addition, there is a Surgical Acute Dependency Unit and a Medical Acute Dependency Unit. A Consultant-led Critical Care Outreach service supports the increasing demand for level 2 and 3 admissions within the Trust.

The post is for 6-12 months commencing August 2018 based at Frimley Park Hospital.
