Senior Nurse Endoscopist – 8A  - Endoscopy Department - Frimley

Frimley Park Hospital

Full Time Permanent Post 37.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Endoscopist to join the Endoscopy Team in our JAG accredited Unit at Frimley Park Hospital, which is part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an experienced, flexible and forward thinking Nurse Endoscopist to join the existing team to support the delivery of our Diagnostic Service.

A dedicated, flexible and committed approach is essential, along with a focused and proactive attitude to the development of the Endoscopy Team and Services at Frimley Health. Working collaboratively with the Lead Clinician and other members of the Endoscopy MDT, the post holder will take an active role in ensuring the service delivers the highest standards of clinical care. This will include actively supporting the implementation of new nationally agreed directives and seeking routes to improve and develop the service for the future.

As a senior member of the Endoscopy Team you will be responsible and accountable for leading and delivering the highest standard of individualized care to meet national and local targets and develop the service in line with JAG and BSG recommendations.

You will have your own case load of patients for whom you will perform sedated and non-sedated upper and lower gastro-intestinal, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. This will include both routine and urgent in-patient and outpatients. You will be expected to demonstrate highly specialist and advanced clinical knowledge, skills and decision making, working autonomously to manage whole episodes of patient care independent of medical supervision but as a key member of the Endoscopy Service multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses with current registration that possess a JAG accreditation (or equivalent training) in either OGD or colonoscopy. Bachelor’s degree level studies in a gastrointestinal or endoscopy specialty would be preferable as would an Independent prescriber qualification although opportunities to undertaken this are available within the trust.

We can offer you excellent opportunities to develop your skills and expand your practices with a very supportive team. This vacancy offers the opportunity to be part of a vibrant team, committed to providing effective health care and working to bring about dynamic change in the way patients requiring health care are managed.
