Frimley Health is a Trust where great care and great careers go hand in hand. We’re three hospitals working closely with each other and with the communities we serve in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and Buckinghamshire  - our organisation has brought Heatherwood and Wexham hospitals into the fold of Frimley Park Hospital and its wider community services.

You’ll find the highest standards of clinical excellence across our locations and a friendly, supportive, open culture that brings everyone together. For our team it means a great day-to-day working experience – in a Trust with strong leadership, a clear sense of direction and an exciting vision for the future. The investment and changes ahead make this an exciting place to be. You can play your part in delivering exceptional patient care, while continuing to grow, develop and progress through first class learning and training.

Are you a Band 5 therapist looking for your next career step? If you have good broad based  Band 5 experience, which includes experience of working with stroke patients, then we have the perfect next step for you.

You will be based at Frimley Park acute hospital and join the inpatient team in providing excellent care to inpatients. For two days a week you will work within the Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team (also based at Frimley Park).  You will design and deliver therapy programmes for patients in their own homes who have been discharged on this scheme and also work with the technicians in the team who help deliver speech therapy programmes.

In both roles you will be able to access close support from experienced Band 7 speech and language therapists as needed and join very friendly and supportive teams. You will have the opportunity to delivery training and take students on placements.  The inpatient team has recently acquired FEES equipment and is undergoing training to be able to routinely provide this investigation.  The twice weekly videofluoroscopy clinics are very well established and our Band 6 therapist are encouraged to complete their videofluoroscopy competencies.

We have monthly team meetings and clinical discussion groups as well as an active audit programme annually. CPD is encouraged and well supported.

This is an ideal opportunity if you are still unsure whether your career will ultimately be acute or community focused as you will be able to continue to develop your skills in both areas. If it sounds like your dream job then what are you waiting for? New Year – New job and we look forward to welcoming you to our team!
