We are recruiting a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to work in our Acute Medical Unit (AMU).

The AMU at Wexham Park Hospital comprises of 44 beds in the Unit. It is the key medical department for; patient assessment, monitoring and management of acutely ill patients. The department accepts patients from GPs and the Emergency Department making the unit fast paced, challenging yet rewarding environment to work in. You will be responsible for promoting a high standard of nursing care and multi-disciplinary working.

You will be expected to adopt a team approach to problem-solving and therefore good communication and organisational skills are essential. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience at Band 6 in an acute settings dealing with complex needs as well as knowledge of emergency assessment. Also must have proven leadership, excellent communication and management skills. This setting offers huge potential to further develop your nursing career, clinical, leadership and management skills.

Exciting moments ahead for us as a new building for emergency and assessment departments will soon be launched at Wexham Park Hospital. This will include new 24 hour and 72 hour Assessment Units and also a new Ambulatory Care Unit.
