Our Team

We have a unique, friendly, innovative and dynamic team who are delighted to be responsible for Children’s Ward and young people from across East Berkshire and some of South Bucks with general medical and surgical conditions including respiratory, oncology, haematology, orthopaedic, ENT, plastics, urology and oral surgery specialities from 5 days to 18 years old.

We have 24 inpatient and 5 dedicated high dependency beds, as well as a 6 bedded day surgery area and a Childrens rapid assessment/observation area taking GP, A&E and referrals from other healthcare professionals and from those children on permanent open access and you will have an opportunity to rotate throughout these areas. The ward was awarded good in our last CQC inspection and the ward has also recently gone through a complete refurbishment.

We have close links with our Childrens Outpatient Department, Paediatric A+E and our Children’s Community Nursing Teams as well as our regional Children’s Hospital in Oxford.

If this is something that inspires you, then we look forward to welcoming you to our team and you can start to make a difference to the children, young people and their families that we care for.
