Frimley Health is a Trust where great care and great careers go hand in hand. We’re three hospitals working closely with each other and with the communities we serve in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and Buckinghamshire  - our organisation has brought Heatherwood and Wexham hospitals into the fold of Frimley Park Hospital and its wider community services.

You’ll find the highest standards of clinical excellence across our locations and a friendly, supportive, open culture that brings everyone together. For our team it means a great day-to-day working experience – in a Trust with strong leadership, a clear sense of direction and an exciting vision for the future. The investment and changes ahead make this an exciting place to be. You can play your part in delivering exceptional patient care, while continuing to grow, develop and progress through first class learning and training.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated Physiotherapist to join our lively, fun and sociable team.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to work on our new OPSSU within the Acute In Patient Physiotherapy team delivering Physiotherapy within the Frailty MDT including a dedicated Geriatrician. The Older Persons Short Stay (OPSS) Unit includes eight Frailty Unit beds and provides care for older patients with frailty syndromes with a need for a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) admitted via ED/AMU or directly from their GP.

The main focus of the OPSSU will be immediate and early specialist management of older people presenting with multiple co-morbidities, polypharmacy and complex social care needs that require urgent or emergency care. The aim will be to maximise independence, prevent deconditioning, minimise length of stay and ensure safe transfer to community services within 72 hours.  The Frailty Unit will work on the same principles but will be aimed at discharging patients within 12 hours to either return for further treatment on a say case basis or to be discharged back to the care of their GP.

We have a strong leadership structure and are committed to staff development.

You will work as part of the MDT, undertaking timely assessments, treatment and facilitating patient discharge.

  • Do you have Band 5/6 NHS acute or community frailty experience?
  • Are you a highly motivated/innovative person?
  • Are you committed to provide a service of excellence?

If so you could be the person we are looking for.

 We can offer you: -

  • A department which has achieved Investors in People and is active in developing both your clinical and managerial skills
  • Excellent support from your Principal physiotherapists and colleagues

Interviews will take place on Thursday 8th February 2018
